That's all it takes. Wild Espadin Agave are hand-harvested on the steep slopes of the Oaxacan Sierra. The hearts are slowly roasted in a rock pit over a mesquite fire and then ground, brewed, and expertly distilled. The result, Sombra, is one of the most tasteful and finest spirits produced on and of our earth "Mezcal" is a spirit of Mexico and comes from the agave cactus but not the blue nectar which is reserved only for tequila, it is associated with Oaxaca but made across Mexico. Typically there is a worm or "gusano" placed in the bottle to be consumed as the last swig for good luck. Its taste is harsh and earthy and traditionally consumed alone.
