Blanton's Bourbon is made from a combination of corn, rye, and malted barley, which are mashed and fermented before being distilled in copper pot stills. The bourbon is then aged for a minimum of six years in new charred oak barrels, which impart a rich color and complex flavor profile to the whiskey. What distinctive about Blanton's from other bourbons is its unique aging and bottling process. Each bottle of Blanton's is filled from a single barrel, which means that each bottle is truly unique and reflects the characteristics of the barrel it was aged in. The resulting whiskey is a well-balanced spirit, with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak on the nose, and flavors of dark fruit, spice, and a touch of sweetness on the palate. The use of charred oak barrels in particular imparts a smoky flavor profile to the bourbon, which is complemented by a smooth and creamy texture.
