This wine’s initials, NC, are often thought to refer to Noemi Cinzano, Argiano’s longstanding owner. However, Non Confunditur is a Latin term meaning “do not be mistaken”- This is the motto of the Lovatelli family, written on the family crest which appears on the label. This wine is not to be mistaken for any of Argiano’s other wines which exclusively use either Tuscan or French varietals. NC, in contrast, is a unique marriage of both. It is a great example of how a red wine can retain a lovely freshness while expressing the toasty flavors of restrained oak aging. Tasting Notes Color: Ruby red Bouquet: Red fruit and spicy, black currant with earthy notes Flavor: Full body, soft tannins and a long finish; round red wine for early to mid-term drinking Pairings: Homemade pastas, meat sauces, mushroom-based sauces or truffle-based sauces
